    Pay Range: $60,405.80 – $ 62,000 (yearly)

    Position Overview:

    The function of the Assistant Program Supervisor is to ensure the day-to-day operations of the agency’s kinship caregiving program run smoothly, outreach activities and referral processes are occurring, and its service delivery elements are in place to bring about the program’s desired outcomes.

    Requirements & Specifications:

    + Ability to work a flexed schedule, 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri with some Saturdays; Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work beyond regular scheduled hours.

    + Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a human services or related field, is required.

    + Experience working with clients who exhibit significant emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal challenges, mental health diagnoses and trauma history, is highly preferred.

    + Experience with the (non-physical) de-escalation elements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and trauma-responsive care, with the ability to respond effectively and therapeutically in crisis situations.

    + Knowledge of and the ability to connect family members with various community resources.

    + Clean & Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) and reliable vehicle - with proof of 100/300 liability insurance coverage - required. Staff in driving positions must be able to meet the minimum requirements of our agency’s insurance policy for authorized drivers including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire and the ability to maintain insurability throughout employment.

    + Proficiency in various computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite & Google Business Workspace Suite; and use secure Internet practices.

    + Experience with AWARDS is a plus.

    + Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive family and individual data with strict confidentiality.

    + Ability to pass pre-employment background check requirements, including fingerprinting, is required.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

    + Support each assigned family, including caregivers and children, with the matters of permanency that keep the family-unit whole.

    + Provide program leadership, as assigned by the program supervisor, to ensure day-to-day operations occur as planned.

    + Proactively visit the caregiver homes on a regular, prescribed basis.

    + Document services and casework as required by St. Catherine’s and NYS-OCFS policies and regulations.

    + Is the primary “manager” of kinship caregiving cases, completing strength-based assessments and other case management duties that inform services and goal-setting -- coordination of services, internal and external service referrals, and refining of services through a case conference process.

    + Oversee program services, including support groups for kinship caregivers and children.

    + Oversee family engagement and educational activities; ensures respite services are being provided.

    + Maintain steady and regular connection with the families, promoting their engagement with the program.

    + Facilitate the discharge planning elements for each assigned family.

    + Act in the capacity of the program supervisor, temporarily, when necessary.

    + Complete other position-related duties as assigned.
