Scope of Job
Responsible for leading and ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of the university’s marketing operations. Responsible for overseeing service functions within the division, optimizing processes, establishing key performance metrics, and enhancing client service delivery. Fosters collaboration across departments to support timely project completion, brand consistency, and cost-efficient solutions that align with institutional goals.
Description of Duties
+ Develops, implements, and oversees strategies to optimize marketing operations, ensuring efficient project execution and high-quality client services.
+ Manages and streamlines the intake process for marketing and communications support, setting clear, measurable objectives for project turnaround and client satisfaction.
+ Establishes and maintains an accessible dashboard tracking key metrics, including service requests, project completion times, client satisfaction, and cost efficiencies.
+ Provides strategic oversight to a marketing team responsible for executing routine tasks using template-based software, ensuring quality and consistency. Collaborates across departments to support timely project completion, brand consistency, and cost-efficient solutions that align with institutional goals and objectives.
+ Provides leadership and strategic guidance to the marketing operations and client services team, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
+ Prepares and presents monthly and annual reports on client services, project allocation, and financial impact assessments of in-house services versus external alternatives.
+ Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing and communications policies, procedures, and service guidelines remain up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
+ Leads the development and facilitation of training sessions to educate university stakeholders on marketing best practices and compliance standards.
+ Oversees budget planning and resource allocation for marketing operations and client services initiatives, ensuring alignment with divisional and institutional strategic goals.
+ Compiles and submits reports as required by management, state, local, and federal regulatory agencies
+ Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless integration and execution of service operations across the division.
+ Participates in various committees, professional training, industry conferences, and conventions.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Seven (7) years of experience in marketing operations, project management, or client services, to include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Experience
Experience in digital marketing, process optimization, and data-driven service management within higher education or a similarly complex environment.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Some travel and weekend work is required. UTRGV is a distributed institution which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and negotiate.
