    Overview

     

    The Physical Therapy Technician supports and assists the Physical Therapist in physical rehabilitation of patientillness or injury. The Physical Therapy Technician is responsible for the maintenance and performance of thePhysical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinical equipment.

    Responsibilities

    -Under direct supervision of the Chief of PT, the Physical TherapyTechnician will ensure that rehabilitation equipment is functioning safelyand efficiently.

     

    -Under the direct supervision of the Chief of PT, the Physical TherapyTechnician will maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner for use intreatment. Any equipment not up to standard must be reported toAdministrative Director

     

    -Under direct supervision of the Physical Therapist, the Physical TherapyTechnician will Implement treatment and document each treatmentaccording to established guidelines in the medical record. Modify goalsand/or treatment according to patient’s needs and in concurrence withphysician.

     

    -Assists in maintaining the needs of the physical plant of the departmentsuch as contacting housekeeping, engineering etc. Any problems must beimmediately communicated to the Chief of PT.

    Qualifications

    0-2 years as a Physical Therapy TechnicianCompletion of Physical Therapy Technician Program

     

    High school or GED
