    At Salt Lake County Youth Services, we provide clinical services for youth and their families who reside in SLCo. Our services include standard outpatient, crisis work, assessments for both mental health, and substance use disorder. We provide client-centered services to all we serve.     At Youth Services we are large enough as a County agency to have the resources to assist clients but small enough to individualize our services to each youth we serve. Most of our clinical team has over 10 years of service working as a clinician for the Division of Youth Services.

We have a 45% Direct Service Ratio to provide the clinicians the time they need for documentation, trainings, and staff meetings. Our clinicians have an option for flexible schedules based on personal and business needs. Youth Services is not contract based. We do not expect, nor do we want you to double book clients.

    At Salt Lake County Youth Services our clinicians are eligible for12 holidays,up to 24 vacation days, 12 sick days, one personal preference day every year, and up to an additional 5 days of bonus time off, all paid!We also pay for one conference/symposium a year up to $250. If not fully licensed, we provide all necessary supervision to become fully licensed. In addition to all of this we provide all new hires with an additional two weeks of paid vacation time to be used during their first year.

    JOB SUMMARY

    Provides individual, family, and group therapy to youth and families. Provides crisis intervention, clinical assessment, direct service, and referrals.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Grade 14

     

    Current license in the State of Utah as a Certified Social Worker (CSW), Certified Social Worker Intern (CSWi), Certified Professional Counselor Intern (CPCI), Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACHMC); Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTI).

     

    Incumbents with a CSWi licensure must obtain a CSW license within 90 days or provide written documentation from DOPL of an extension.

     

    Grade 14 salary = $51,021.00 - $76,534.00 Depending on Experience

     

    Grade 15

     

    Current license in the State of Utah as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

     

    Grade 15 salary = $59,541.00 - $89,313.00 Depending on Experience

     

    All Grades

     

    Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Performs clinical assessments, develops crisis and treatment plans based on the assessment, tracks and modifies the plan as required.

    + Provides direct clinical services including crisis intervention, short term individual, family and group counseling.

    + Provides case management which may include coordinating and linking families to community resources, consulting with other providers, and making referrals as needed.

    + Completes case documentation and all required reports in the appropriate format and in a timely manner.

    + Performs other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to, supervising interns, holiday clinical coverage, attendance at meetings, and serving on committees.

    + Complies with codes of professional ethics; strictly follow agency policies, procedures and code of conduct.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

    Knowledge of:

    + Social casework principles

    + Family therapy methods, principles, and techniques

    + Individual therapy methods, principles, and techniques

    + Crisis intervention theory and techniques

    + Human development, behavior, and adolescent development principles

    + Emotional, personality, and substance abuse disorders

    + Public relations and communication skills

    + Community resources and agencies

    + Supervision practices and principles

    + Basic computer use

    Skills and Abilities to:

    + Respond appropriately and effectively in crisis situations

    + Function under limited supervision

    + Apply general principles to specific conditions

    + Express self clearly, both orally and in writing

    + Receive and appropriately retain confidential information

    + Understand and communicate well with youth

    + Adapt to situations flexibly, yet impose appropriate structure to maintain a safe environment
