Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting in-process and finished goods to ensure they meet specifications. This role involves performing metric and English unit conversions, using inspection instruments, and entering and retrieving data on computers. The technician will facilitate the transition of daily production requirements between shifts and perform various verification checks and inspections to maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect in-process and finished goods to ensure conformance with specifications.
+ Perform metric/English unit conversions and use inspection instruments.
+ Enter and retrieve data using a computer.
+ Ensure proper transition of daily production requirements between shift personnel.
+ Perform daily verification checks on scales.
+ Issue approved QSI’s/work instructions to designated Press Location prior to molding process start-up.
+ Make finished goods and WIP labels for manufacturing as needed.
+ Inspect parts for First Shot Visual Part Approval and display First Shot Visual Part at press when required.
+ Perform inspections of packaging of parts for correct pack outs and labeling per the QSI.
+ Perform inspection on Drying Tunnel Temperature when required.
+ Perform Post Process Inspections of product prior to shipments when required.
+ Review daily the Quality Control plans currently on production floor for operator awareness.
+ Review SOP’s and OP’s for accuracy and notify the Quality Supervisor when incorrect.
+ Perform displacement and moisture loss test when directed.
+ Label containers of nonconforming parts with a 'Hold' label and notify the Quality Supervisor.
+ Ensure all tools and devices used to perform measurements of parts have a current calibration label.
+ Assist in all phases of employee training.
+ Assist in directing workforce to produce quality parts.
+ Ensure all inspection records are accurate.
+ Aid the Shift Lead in manufacturing processes when needed.
+ Monitor and communicate cycle time, scrap percentage, OEE, and OHE during shift.
+ Maintain cleanliness of areas according to 6S program.
+ Verify adherence to all safety requirements and report any infractions.
+ Wear correct PPE as required.
+ Complete and maintain records according to production and quality standards.
+ Participate on teams/committees as requested.
+ Perform all duties demonstrating the highest level of quality, safety, and efficient operation.
+ Ability to work in varying indoor temperatures.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Quality assurance and quality control.
+ Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and precise measuring tools.
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Three years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
+ One year of previous experience in performing quality inspections.
+ Ability to read and interpret measurements using scales, calipers, and other devices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Leadership or team lead experience.
+ Experience in blueprint/schematics, maintenance technician roles, troubleshooting, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Work Environment
The facility, updated in 2016, is equipped with new machines and technology. It operates on a small scale with approximately 45 employees, fostering a close-knit community. The environment is clean and non-temperature controlled, with fans and open doors during summer months. The night shift offers an amazing schedule with 4 days off one week and 3 days off the next, ensuring ample downtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenton, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
