This position is responsible for the operational management and outcomes of the clinical New Hire Curriculum, Nurse Residency Program, and non-provider level Student Clinical Rotations/Internships ensuring the regulatory and compliance requirement are met. Assists the Sr. Director with aligning Clinical Education resources to meet appropriate system wide training needs.
Job Duties and Standards:
+ Designs and implements high quality educational programs, activities, or projects, including job-aids, self-studies, classroom curriculum and evaluation materials for staff at all stages of their career.
+ Applies adult learning principles, evidence-based interventions, standards of care, regulatory requirements, and various teaching-learning strategies to the selection of education content, techniques, and materials.
+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to interact and communicate with a variety of audiences through verbal, written, presentation, and teaching methods.
+ Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of education/training opportunities ensuring outcomes of the training content meet learning objectives and goals. Modifies training curriculum as necessary.
+ Assists in the evaluation, assessment and mentoring of clinical staff as a part of initial or annual competency assessment where required.
+ Ensures all training supplies are ready and available to meet training objective as designed.
+ Actively supports and assists with Equipment, Vendor, and Unit based educational offerings. (ex. new equipment, new process design)
+ Completes documentation and record keeping for educational opportunities according to department policy and standard work.
+ Participates in the observation of clinical practice to validate, review and/or update educational content in support of the onboarding, training, and competency efforts of the organization.
+ Actively participates on health care system committees providing input, guidance and direction as requested.
+ Oversees and operationalizes Organizational Development department priorities and/or assigned projects
+ Serves as an influential leader and resource for interprofessional learning, professional growth, and practice change throughout the organization.
+ In collaboration with Human Resources, will participate in nurse recruitment including school recruitment site visits, application reviews, managing interviews, and actively participating in the selection/hiring process.
+ Oversight and coordination of all phases of the Nurse Residency program including identification and development of content, presentation/presenter development, scheduling, cohort and roundtable topics, and clinical rotation assignments.
+ Works in partnership with clinical leadership to develop and facilitate the preceptor role providing systemwide training for development and growth of preceptors.
+ Measures NR program outcomes in terms of learning change, professional role competency, retention, and organizational ROI, revising program objectives based on trends, evidence and changes in stakeholder expectations.
+ In collaboration of Leadership and Human Resources, ensures that onboarding activities that are assigned from the Organizational Development department (ie. eLearning, orientation content, and clinical skill checkoffs) meet and maintain system compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Serves as liaison between the system, departments, and schools/institutions to ensure that students performing clinical rotations, internships, or observations meet the requirements to be onsite including contract compliance, education, and Health screening clearances. Maintain documentation and student records per department standard.
+ Provide administrative coverage for key OD department functions
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Nursing, current NC or multi-state RN license, 2 years experience preferred within nursing education.
