Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist- Early Intervention
Department: Early Intervention Program
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience
Status: Per-Diem (Choose your own hours)
Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Early Intervention Program will provide specialized services to children from birth to three years old with developmental delays or communication challenges. The SLP will assess, and treat speech, language, cognitive communication. They will work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to support each child's developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech and language skills.
+ Develop individualized treatment plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team.
+ Provide direct therapy services to children in homes, childcare settings, or community environments.
+ Implement evidence-based practices to address communication and language challenges.
+ Monitor and document progress toward IFSP goals, adjusting strategies as needed.
+ Educate and train families and caregivers to promote skill development in natural environments.
+ Provide resources and strategies to help integrate communication activities into daily routines.
+ Partner with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, physical therapists, developmental specialists) to deliver holistic care.
+ Participate in team meetings and provide input for case discussions and planning.
+ Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
+ Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for early intervention services.
+ Stay informed on current research and advancements in speech-language pathology and early intervention.
+ Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and certification.
Qualifications:
+ Licensure: State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain licensure.
+ Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
+ Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred; Clinical Fellows will be considered.
+ Experience working with young children and families, preferably in early intervention settings.
+ Knowledge of developmental milestones and family-centered care principles.
+ Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bilingual (depending on community needs).
+ Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
+ Training in feeding and swallowing disorders.
+ Ability to travel to various service locations within the community.
+ Capacity to perform duties that may require bending, kneeling, or sitting on the floor during therapy sessions.
