    The Robotics Application Engineer – Automotive Industry will provide strong and consistent application engineering support to FANUC’s large automotive customers who deploy FANUC robots into their auto body construction, propulsion system, and final assembly manufacturing facilities.

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    + Provide consistent, professional and proactive technical leadership for our large automotive customers and internal sales organizations as they work to find the best way to implement FANUC products into automotive manufacturing operations.

    + Evaluate the best way to implement the wide range of FANUC robotics products into applications that will help our large automotive customers maximize their return on investment when using FANUC products and services.

    + Identify and define new products and application solutions that will enhance the value FANUC adds to our customer’s automation solutions while providing strong return on investment to FANUC.

    + Provide customer demonstrations, presentations, and direct technical support as required by the FANUC sales organization to strongly support them in their efforts to sell FANUC products and services.

    + Concept, develop, execute, and support these activities to ensure FANUC customers clearly understand the industry leading capabilities of FANUC robotics products.

    + Manage the resolution of all critical issues related to these applications.

    + Identify product performance concerns and limitations with input from customers, users, and internal groups.

    + Create and define the issue resolution plan with all involved teams – including the customer, sales, product development and service groups.

    + Coordinate and participate in the issue resolution process by utilizing strong fundamental engineering skills along with the technical expertise acquired in your role.

    + Always provide detailed, consistent and proactive communication with all teams involved.

    Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Controls, Robot, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or related field.

    + A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industrial robotics and manufacturing.

    + Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and 3D CAD is highly desirable

    + Ability to learn and use new software & hardware as needed to suit the job requirements

    + Ability to program and operate industrial robots

    + Up to 10% of travel domestic and international

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 5–10 years' experience working in an industrial robot and manufacturing related professional experience.
