The Center for the Study of Antisemitism at New York University invites applications for the AddressHate Postdoctoral Associate in Antisemitism Studies beginning January 1, 2026. The position is a one-year research position with the possibility of renewal for another year.
The Postdoctoral Associate in Antisemitism Studies is a research position with no formal teaching duties. The associate will participate actively in the academic activities of the Center for the Study of Antisemitism and is encouraged to make full use of the scholarly resources available throughout the University. The Postdoctoral Associate will be able to take advantage of research materials available at the NYU Libraries, the New York Public Library, the Center for Jewish History, and beyond.
Candidates whose research focuses on antisemitism and technology working within any of the relevant disciplines of the humanities, social sciences, and computer sciences are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate is a postdoctoral scholar seeking to examine and develop research on social media, AI, antisemitism, and other forms of extremism. Candidates must have already demonstrated a record of original and compelling research in their area of specialization and have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
+ Database systems and big data management
+ Data visualization and visual analytics
+ Machine learning and artificial intelligence
+ Social Media and Hate Speech
+ Experience with open-source software development
+ Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary research teams
Eligible applicants must have completed their PhD by December 31, 2025.
Completed applications will be reviewed beginning June 30, 2025. Applicants should submit the following as separate documents:
+ Cover letter including a description of the research specialization and the specific research proposal to be undertaken at the Center for the Study of Antisemitism
+ Curriculum vitae
+ One sample of recent scholarly work, such as a dissertation chapter or published article and/or links to current projects

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the compensation for this position is $74,000 – 84,000 USD. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
