The position of **Assembly Lead** is within our Toxicology Business Unit located in San Diego, CA. Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of assembly and non-assembly functions in support of manufacturing goals. Position requires the ability to work independently.
This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.
2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm
What You'll Do
+ Responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet Supply Chain deliverables
+ May function as a Team Lead directing Manufacturing cell or lines
+ Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of batch records within 24 hours
+ Responsible for Tier 1 metrics
+ Promotes the recognition and idea programs
+ Interacts with cross-functional teams in the performance of daily tasks
+ Trained on all stations of product and packaging lines including automated equipment
+ Coordinates the training of temporary or regular manufacturing personnel
+ Responsible for recognizing product or equipment problems that arise during the mfg. process and escalating to Engineering/Maintenance department
+ May be required to assist with the set-up of mfg. equipment
+ Responsible for performing quality checks throughout the mfg. process to ensure compliance to procedures – promoting a culture of compliance
+ Active participation in Lean Initiatives including the sustainment of improvements
+ Responsible for supporting and developing a culture of continuous process improvement
+ Access and print “current” documents from Agile
+ Assist with decision making regarding production priorities
+ Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
+ Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of the Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies
+ May be required to assist with investigations related to Customer Complaints, Quality Incidents and CAPA’s
+ Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices
+ Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job. Has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
+ Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
+ Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent
+ Five to seven years of related experience in manufacturing
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ Experience working in GMP environment
+ Basic understanding of manufacturing systems (documentation, compliance, inventory control, production scheduling/controls, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
+ MS Office Suite experience
+ Knowledge of regulations (FDA, ISO, OSHA, etc.)
+ Medical device manufacturing preferred
+ Experience as a working lead in a manufacturing environment
The base pay for this position is $20.10 – $40.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
