The DPM Manager is a critical role accountable to ensure delivery of all capabilities impacting and enabling advanced technology and new products for PacSci EMC. This position will be responsible for coordinating Product Management and cross-functional engineering teams to complete new product design and development programs on time and within budget. This role leads the development program managers to execute on the portfolio initiatives and communicates with key stakeholders. This position supports the DPM and Business Development team in customer interface for the portfolio of development programs.
This position is responsible for managing the growth programs, facilitating strategy and development processes. The DPM manager ensures NPD portfolio delivery success through guiding the DPMs to be agile and manage customer requests. This includes accountability for financial visibility to the leadership team. This leader works with the NPD operations director, product technical leaders, and contracts to ensure product teams meet requirements and deadlines for business capabilities and customer driven program scope changes are addressed before work commences.
The desired candidate will have exceptional program management skills, demonstrated expertise in the structured development processes while able to be agile. This role requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and business acumen, a successful track record with complex and demanding customer interactions. In addition, the successful candidate will possess a strong background in workflow management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads DPM team through the APD process from proposal through successful product launch for customer funded and IR&D programs.
2. Takes on DPM role for major development initiatives
3. Maintains budget for the portfolio of development programs assigned to their team. Assists DPM in meeting program budget accepted at program initiation (Sales order kick off) and unit product cost targets based on future business projections determined with Business Development (BD).
4. Develops and maintains positive customer relationships and ensures the customer's contractual requirements are fulfilled.
5. Evaluates customer requests for quote and makes bid/no bid recommendations for opportunities involving product development. Assigns appropriate DPM resource to the proposal effort and reviews the proposal for accuracy prior to approval process.
6. Works with BD, Applications Engineering, and Product Technical Lead (PTL) to prepare materials for requesting IR&D funding for new product development. Participate and/or assist in the presentation for company growth meetings.
7. Partners with the contract administrator manager to guild the DPM and assigned contract administrator (CA) to ensure clarity and understanding of the PO and statement of work and confirms conformance to PacSci proposal before acceptance.
8. Provides overall program management guidance and leadership to the DPM for proper project oversight to ensure the development efforts are successful.
9. Prepares yearly performance appraisals and development plan guidance for direct reports. Works with direct reports and HR to establish a career plan. Provides feedback periodically throughout year.
10. Supports presentations for assigned proposals/programs to internal management and customers.
11. Maintains positive communication and relationships with all company functional areas to ensure development program portfolio metrics are met, while maintaining an overall perspective of the goals of the company.
12. SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the APD and related processes. Works with other functional managers to ensure team members are trained and understand their responsibilities and deliverables to the development team.
13. Travel as required.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in technical field, Business, or equivalent experience.
+ 15+ years of Program Management leading cross-functional development teams in a related technical and manufacturing environment. 15+ years in a customer facing role. Experience in developing Budgets, Coaching, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Planning, and Performance Management.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 120,500.00 - 223,900.00
Is this role subject to ITAR?
The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations.
