Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple tasks effectively, and is committed to meeting deadlines. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while contributing to the overall success of the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily cash application and collection processes to ensure accurate financial records.

• Maintain and manage vendor and customer reporting, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries with precision.

• Assist in calculating and processing royalties for filmmakers.

• Contribute to month-end closing activities by performing data entry and reconciliations.

• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

• Support external audit processes by providing required documentation and insights.

• Evaluate existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with revenue and expense recognition standards.

• Generate ongoing reports, conduct analytical projects, and complete ad-hoc reporting requests as needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Familiarity with accounting standards and principles; experience with / is a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with the Office Suite.

• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Dynamics Great Plains or QuickBooks is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects efficiently, and meet deadlines.

• A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
