The anticipated salary range for this role is between $134,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:
This VP, Engineering Manager role is a key position in the IT organization of SMBC MANUBANK. This position is to support the Cash Management and Treasury Platform for the Bank. In this role, Candidate will work with internal teams and external vendors to implement and support software solutions to improve customer experience. Candidate will collaborate with the business to ensure that the software solutions you manage align with the company’s operational goals, help drive desirable business outcomes, and improve operational efficiency. Candidate is responsible for implementing the vision and strategy provided by senior leadership.
In this role Candidate will spend a portion of time directly contributing to implementation of various enhancement projects and periodic releases. Additional responsibilities include supporting and communicating the technical and business direction shared by leadership. In addition, engaging with senior leadership and business stakeholders to ensure appropriate requirements, scope and timelines are achieved with implementation projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Serve as the IT Owner of the Cash Management and Treasury platform ecosystem including engineering, enhancements, releases and ongoing maintenance/support
+ Own all platform enhancements, upgrades and custom development
+ Contribute strategically and tactically to evolving market-driven, customer-centric products, and product efforts to ensure stakeholders and management remain aware of the value proposition
+ Lead technology research, product selection, and proof of concept processes where needed
+ Develop, identify, and document operational processes and procedures; assist with run book implementations where there are gaps.
+ Oversee technical solutions to confirm business requirements are met, adhere to methodology, SDLC process, and are compliant with the strategic architecture
+ Work with third-party application vendors on their roadmaps and any vulnerabilities
+ Develop standards of excellence within the department and measure performance of the platform against defined SLA and Business metrics
+ Attend meetings with stakeholders to communicate the purpose and capabilities of the department to ensure effective interface with existing operations
+ Interface with multiple stakeholders; conflicting priorities, communication in an ambiguous environment
+ Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management of Information Systems, or significant experience in the technology field
+ 7+ years of relevant application development work experience
+ 5+ years supervisory experience
+ 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer/Developer
+ 5+ working in the banking and financial services industry
+ Working experience and knowledge in any leading Cash Management and Treasury platform for a commercial Bank
+ Leadership and technical skills required to drive the delivery of service excellence with internal and external delivery teams
+ Hands-on working with API integrations
+ Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel
+ Proven leadership abilities that promote growth and development of employees
+ Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment
+ Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
+ Experience in analyzing new technologies and system enhancements
+ Experience with APIs, Web Services, REST, SOAP – is a plus
+ Scrum or other agile experience is a plus
