REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Information Technology Services Training Team, the Epic eLearning Credentialed Trainer develops eLearning and delivers training in accordance with ProMedica’s Mission and Values. That training is centered around the organization’s integrated electronic health record system from Epic.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Epic eLearning Credentialed Trainer is responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders to design and develop learning material and programs to support the Epic ITS training team and deliver training to end users in a classroom setting. This includes applying instructional design methods in developing new content or updating existing content to support system learner needs. The position reports to the IT Training Manager and works closely with Principal Trainers and eLearning Design Specialist to achieve the goal of delivering online and classroom training.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
All duties listed below are essential unless otherwise noted
Under the direction of a principal trainer(s) or others, lead classes, workshops, computer-based training, and online lessons in alignment with established application curriculum.
Design and develop eLearning content based on information provided by Subject Matter Experts or Epic Principal Trainers using a learner-centric approach.
Leads effort to utilize eLearning to ensure seamless integration of eLearning technology with instructor led training and create an effective learning environment.
Support the mission of ProMedica through professional classroom demeanor and high-quality teaching standards.
Work with Principal Trainers to provide feedback on additional end user learning needs, remediation of identified issues, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Maintains awareness of emerging learning technologies; makes recommendations when appropriate to ensure best possible learner experiences.
Using ProMedica’s learning management system software, maintain class rosters and grade classes correctly and promptly.
Responsible for mastering both an Epic application and the specific workflows of that application.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field; or equivalent experience required.
Skills: Learning design and development – both classroom and eLearning design. Proficiency in a variety of learning technologies and tools including LMS, SharePoint, course authoring (Captivate and Articulate) and animation software (Camtasia and Powtoon), experience with video and audio editing. Position requires substantial voice over and recording work. Strong computer skills and a technical aptitude are necessary. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective self-motivation and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate a dynamic presentation style, professionalism, and trouble-shooting capabilities. Display a personal passion for educating others; create an engaging learning environment and enhance the end user learning experience through creativity, enthusiasm, and high energy.
Years of Experience: 1-2 years of experience in instructional design and development.
Certification: Must achieve credentialed status within 90 days of hire within designated Epic application(s).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills: Position requires substantial voice over and recording work. Exceptional command of the English language with the ability to speak clearly with outstanding articulation, tone, and syntax. Experience with providing education to adult learners preferred. Experience with providing computer-based learning preferred. Knowledge of health care operations is preferred.
Years of Experience: 1-2 years of healthcare or Epic related experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Must be able to occasionally move, lift, and/or carry medium-weight objects and materials.
