    Work Experience: 2 years of experience in a mental health related field with direct patient care responsibilities required.

    Job Roles

    Duty 1: Admits patients to the unit by completing all non-clinical admission paperwork. Review MHT new admission paperwork at the end of each shift to ensure it is correct. If not, ensure it is completed and educate.

     

    Duty 2: Answer phone calls, monitors visitors courteously, demonstrating customer service skills.

     

    Duty 3: Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.

     

    Duty 4: Complete oncoming MHT assignments and change of shift rounding with oncoming/off going MHTs (complete room checks and visual patient checks).

     

    Duty 5: Conducts and documents needed searches, sharps monitoring, and patient observations as assigned. Reports behavior changes to the appropriate personnel. Ensure environmental rounding is completed for that shift and sign off on the form.

     

    Duty 6: Conducts and documents vitals, meal intake and assists with collection and delivery of specimens as needed, and communicates with the Charge Nurse throughout shift as needed.

     

    Duty 7: Ensure all MHT documentation is correct in EPIC, validate MHTs complete VO/1:1 q2 hour documentation, and check continuous observation rounding sheets to ensure they are being done correctly.

     

    Duty 8: Ensure all MHT breaks & lunches are assigned and completed, validate MHTs are switching duties every 2 hours as assigned, and complete all duties/tasks prior to the end of shift.

     

    Duty 9: Precept new hire Mental Health Techs and educate MHTs on areas of improvement.

     

    Duty 10: Participate in committees such as Unit Based Council or MHT Committee
