    Student Affairs seeks an experienced and talented Audio Visual Design Engineer to join our team to capture and model/map business requirements, and work with business partners to understand directions and priorities to assure the delivery of quality solutions. Serve as project leader on small to medium-sized projects or on a portion of a larger project, as assigned.

    In this role, you will:

    + Act as a single point of contact between Learning Technologies & Spaces (LTS) and end-users or contractors, ensuring AV systems integrate well with overall building designs during classroom refresh processes.

    + Perform necessary business and system analysis by conducting site surveys to gather all pertinent data related to issues.

    + Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and identify gaps between requirements and the design, assisting with determining deliverables, and creating system test plans.

    + Collaborate with developers on application specifications and system enhancements to ensure appropriateness of design and delivering resolution of issues; work with business partners to test and deploy resolution in a timely manner.

    + Review any lessons learned from previous projects to ensure continuous improvement in future AV system designs while aligning the team’s approach with best practices and evolving business needs.

    + Interact with team members, the user community and others on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate identification and delivery of business requirements.

    + Make formal recommendations, and write application specifications, including conversion, upgrade and interface routines.

    + Develop functional specifications to ensure compliance with system development lifecycle methods. Team up with business partners and developers to set realistic response time and/or deliverable expectations.

    + Compile and present cost-benefit analysis with ample justification as required (competing features, resources, team vision).

    + Create functional specifications to ensure compliance with system development lifecycle methods, including wiring diagrams and design block diagrams that visually represent the flow of signals.

    + Coordinate with all Classroom Technology team members to participate in classroom support activities.

    To be successful in this role, you will bring:

    + Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

    + Strong capabilities in the following: data mapping, conversion, table structure knowledge, running and analyzing traces, configuration settings, page customizations, security updates, custom coding logics, issues analysis and recommendations, running SQL queries, documentation skills, test scripts development, functional analysis, coordination of user acceptance and sign-off, business process improvement, fit/gap analysis, requirements documentation and process flow charting, presentation of options and solutions facilitation.

    + Strong understanding of the components of web applications. Strong understanding of the software development life cycle. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Demonstrated effectiveness to work collaboratively with minimum direction.

    + History of positive outcomes and ongoing development to establish effective, relationships with clients, staff, and management.

    + Proven success and continued ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations.

    Working Conditions:

    + Work extended hours

    + Hybrid Eligible (Up to 1 day per week)

    + Able to work on evenings and weekends, as needed

     

    _The expected pay range for this position is $126,033 - $141,829 per annum._
