Job Summary
The EVS Trainer is responsible for conducting biweekly orientation sessions for new Environmental Services employees and providing hands-on field training for hourly staff. This role collaborates with the EVS Lead Trainer to develop and implement training programs for leadership personnel. Additionally, the EVS Trainer ensures that departmental certifications are current and compliant with relevant standards.

Responsibilities*
+ Assist with Blue Folder compliance and Joint Commission preparedness through file audits, training, and communication with EVS leadership via compliance reports.
+ Develop training programs and associated materials using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other relevant tools.
+ Administer, organize, and coordinate vertical lift training through Michigan Medicine Safety Management Services for EVS CII staff.
+ Administer, organize, and conduct training programs for floor and carpet care.
+ Research and evaluate new chemicals for potential use in EVS operations.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all training activities.
+ Act as a liaison with various Michigan Medicine departments, including Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, Safety Management Services, and Michigan Medicine Quality and Accreditation.
+ Apply principles from adult learning theory, organizational development, systems thinking, change management, and quality improvement.
+ Establish a facilitative and supportive relationship with learners of diverse backgrounds.
+ Conduct needs assessments to identify and prioritize educational needs of staff.
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs to meet identified training needs.
+ Create a learning environment that fosters mutual respect, trust, openness, and safety.
+ Provide accurate and current training resources and materials.
+ Promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills among staff.
+ Maintain training documentation and records to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
+ Use quality management strategies to support continuous improvement in staff development.
+ Participate in committees, task forces, projects, and organizational meetings as needed.
+ Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
+ Facilitate the initiation, communication, and adoption of change.
+ Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to evolving needs and priorities.
+ Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
Required Qualifications*
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
+ 2-5 years of experience
+ Experience in adult education preferred.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas and training techniques.
+ Ability to pivot and adapt to changing priorities.
+ Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with diverse teams.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, clinical evaluation, coaching, and feedback techniques.
+ Creative thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
+ Experience in course and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
+ Familiarity with diverse teaching methods and instructional strategies.
+ Dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic about staff development and training.
+ Understanding of construction or facilities environments.
Work Schedule
This position will be Afternoons / Monday-Friday / 4:00pm-12:30am

This position will be onsite.
Background Screening
