The Finance Department is seeking a Director of Finance to join our team!
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions across The New Jewish Home (TNJH) Health System. This role is instrumental in developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems. The Director ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
Job Duties:
+ Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
+ Oversees the preparation of monthly financial and regulatory reports and forecasts in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Supervises the completion of cost reports.
+ Serves as the primary liaison for all annual audits, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
+ Cash Management.
+ Provides actionable recommendations to CFO to improve the financial position of TNJH system by analyzing budget variances.
+ Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
+ Provides strategic financial insights to senior leadership, identifying potential risks and recommending actions to support sound fiscal management across departments.
+ Oversees the finance team, including hiring, training, performance management, and ongoing professional development to ensure a high-performing and knowledgeable staff.
+ Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
+ The Director of Finance also oversees the payroll function.
Qualifications:
+ BS in accounting with a Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
+ CPA is a plus.
+ At least five years of accounting management experience at an integrated health system
Specialized Skills and Competencies:
+ Knowledge of financial systems and procedures
+ Demonstrated experience managing government grants, including compliance, reporting, and financial oversight in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Proficient in MS Office Products and Accounting software packages
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Proven ability to multitask and manage high-volume responsibilities.

+ Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, clients and financial institutions.
+ Skilled in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls, with experience in staff training and supervision.
