• (Seasonal) Buildings Maintenance Worker

    Huron-Clinton Metroparks (Harrison Township, MI)


    PAY RATE: $13.05 per hour (up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season).

     

    Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 cent per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked.  Click here (https://www.metroparks.com/job-opportunities/#MORETHANAJOB) for details.

     

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of buildings and other park structures.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

     

    + Cleans and maintains all restrooms in picnic areas and other locations as assigned.

    + Paints interior and exterior of buildings.

    + Paints signs, benches and tables.

    + Cleans buildings-sweeping, mopping, dusting, windows.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.

    + Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.

    + Ability to work in all weather conditions.

    + Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.

    + Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.

    + Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.

    + Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.

    + Ability to perform essential duties.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to understand and carry out oral & written instructions.
