    SUMMARY: In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, you will support manufacturing operations under the Engineering team leadership, processes and continual improvement efforts. This position will work cross- functionally to resolve day-to-day manufacturing problems, troubleshoot and resolve process and product issues through immediate, short- and long-term planning. This position is leveled based upon education, experience and demonstration of the required core competencies.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner.

     

    • Initiates and follows through on required engineering paperwork to improve manufacturability of products on the shop floor.

    • Responsible for inputting new routers and modifying existing routers when needed.

    • Generating routers for stock purges, and for reworks as needed.

    • Active role in root cause corrective action process, including training of operators on customer returns and failures in the field.

    • Troubleshoot and improve current manufacturing processes on the shop floor.

    • Active participation in 6s, lean initiatives, continual improvement, and any other program deemed necessary by management.

    • Troubleshoot product failures to determine root cause and corrective action.

    • Maintain, support and improve the manufacturing processes.

    • Collaborate with the design engineering team to improve product manufacturability.

    • Ensure manufacturing tooling, fixtures and processes are Environmental Health and Safety compliant per site policies.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibility; however all team members are expected to self-supervise to ensure the Companies’ Continual Improvement philosophy and Core Values are maintained.

     

    QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: In daily work, a team member is responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence requested by the internal and external customers of this department. This includes following established policies, following ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, and work instructions, using problem solving techniques to solve root causes of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience based on level of role.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
