General Summary
Assists class participants with becoming more confident about managing falls by coaching them in strength training, finding ways to reduce falls, and protecting themselves if patients do fall. The coaches lead group discussion, problem solving strategies, video and gentle physical exercise.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Provides accurate information about fall prevention. Encourages interactive discussion about the concepts and skills presented.
+ Provides skills to assist in fall reduction. Demonstrates and coaches the exercises outlined in the Matter of Balance Program.
+ Acts as a facilitator by helping participants understand ways to reduce falls and protect themselves if patients do fall.
+ Promotes socialization and a solution oriented environment among the participants.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
+ Less than 1 year Experience with education or health care. Required
Courses and Training:
+ A Matter of Balance certification. Upon Hire Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of adult and childhood educational principles.
+ Strong communications skills.
