The Marketing Analytics and Business Insights (MABI) team supporting AbbVie’s US Commercial organization is 200+ members strong and growing every day. We comprise highly respected researchers, analysts, and strategists striving to be the gold standard Research & Analytics organization within the biopharmaceutical industry. We serve as strategic in-house advisor and pragmatic compass to Marketing, Sales, and Leadership – ensuring that all decisions are grounded in rigorous intelligence and earned intuition. The Associate Director, Marketing Analytics and Research, Oncology is a strategic and critical role in the US MABI Oncology organization, responsible for optimizing the customer experience across multiple digital and traditional touchpoints for our customers. This individual is responsible for developing and implementing analytics strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of omnichannel marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights that drive engagement, improve ROI, and support commercial decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a deep understanding of Omnichannel and digital marketing. Provides both technical and strategic thought leadership in the areas of analytics, marketing, and data sciences in developing and delivering the analytic strategy and operational support for strategic capabilities and transformational initiatives. This role will also engage with external data and service providers (including IQVIA, ZS, and others). This leader will help mentor analytic team members to deliver actionable results to stakeholders across the organization.
Major Responsibilities:
+ Develop and manage advanced analytics frameworks to measure omnichannel marketing performance across digital, field force, email, web, social media, events, and CRM platforms.
+ Translate business needs into analytical plans and lead the execution of complex data analyses to support brand teams, commercial operations, and senior leadership.
+ Partner with brand, marketing, and IT teams to ensure proper data integration and tracking across platforms.
+ Design and manage dashboards and reports that visualize KPIs such as engagement rates, channel attribution, HCP segmentation, and content effectiveness.
+ Conduct A/B testing, channel mix modeling, and customer journey analytics to identify optimization opportunities.
+ Provide strategic recommendations on channel mix, campaign timing, segmentation, and personalization based on analytical findings.
+ Leads Advanced Analytics with emerging technology and methodologies to deliver accurate, innovative, and timely insights to support and act as a strategic partner to VEN Brand and Sales teams.
+ Independently execute and lead Advanced Analytic initiatives and projects, supervise supplier teams’ analytics work, ensuring analytical approaches implemented are built according to best practice and with eventual scaling in mind.
+ Proactively identify new and innovative analytic approaches that would improve our ability to answer commercial business questions by closely collaborating with key stakeholders to transform business questions and data into analytic solutions.
+ Manages ongoing engagements and budgets with external data vendors to ensure AbbVie is getting the appropriate data, services, and support; anticipates, forecasts, and secures appropriate budget funds and support based on current and future business needs.
+ This role requires operation within our hybrid model (3 days in office). We are only considering talent located within the following location(s): Mettawa, IL.
Qualifications
+ BS degree required. Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MS, MBA) preferred demonstrating applied advanced analytics.
+ 10+ years of experience in analytics, with at least 2–3 years in omnichannel marketing or commercial analytics.
+ Working knowledge of CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and web analytics tools.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Highly organized, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

+ Experience developing and executing analytic solutions to address key business questions with measurable outcomes and insights
+ Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving

+ Strong written/oral communications skills including communicating to all levels of the organization
+ Ability to understand the pharma commercial environment and business needs and translate to workable solutions
+ Highly motivated change agent that can push against the status quo and seed new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new ways of working
+ Proven success in managing and partnering with internal clients and external vendors
+ Proven project management skills, including ability to lead in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and functions
+ Good facilitator – can drive collaborative discussions, gather feedback, and provide follow-up on how to incorporate into solution design/delivery
+ Strategic thinker - can see big picture opportunities and translate into actionable plans but can also understand the details.

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $137,500 - $261,000
