The** **Maintenance Supervisor, skills & background (Engineering, Electrical and Hydraulic trades)** **is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of** **production equipment and** **building facilities. This role involves directing a team of maintenance and auxiliary staff, ensuring that all areas of the facility are in good working order, and that the environment is safe and clean.
The supervisor also manages budgets, schedules preventive maintenance, and responds to emergency situations. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of facility services, often serving as the point of contact for vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities:
Supervision - union experience
Oversee a team of facilities services staff (18 Direct Reports Union & Non-union)
Assign tasks and schedule work shifts (** **1st Shift 7:00a-3:00p, 2nd Shift 3:00p-11:00p, #rd Shift 11:00p-7:00a)
Creative technical ability to troubleshoot, repair and service older production machines and develop solutions for non routine repairs
Provide training and guidance to employees
Monitor and evaluate performance
Manage disciplinary actions or conflicts within the department
Budget management: Identify cost saving opportunities and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
Inventory management: Monitor usage and order necessary items, manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and loss
Plan and coordinate facility improvement or renovation projects
Facility Maintenance
Inspect and maintain building systems and equipment (Electrical & Hydraulic)
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs or installations
Ensure compliance with safety and building codes
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans
Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner
Administrative Tasks
Maintain department records and reports
Prepare and submit necessary paperwork and documentation
Assist with hiring and onboarding of new staff
Attend meetings and provide updates on department activities and projects.
Team Management: Union & Non-Union employees
Supervisor is will to delegate ‘work’ with respect to the skills of their direct report employees.
Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.
Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.
Qualifications:
Three to Five years of experience in facilities management or a related field, with a proven track record of supervising a team.
Trade skills: Electrical, hydraulic and some engineering experience preferred
Industrial equipment Troubleshooting, servicing and repair experience
Strong people leadership and communication skills, proficiency in project management, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations are crucial.
Manage department budget and work with diverse teams
