Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The operator palletizer transfers finished goods from the line onto a pallet base, stacks the boxes of finished goods in a pre-determined pattern, and wrap the boxes to ensure that the product is secured and ready to be shipped. This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumers · Attendance is essential to perform duties · Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainings · Always ensure regulatory compliance · Place slip sheet on wood pallet prior to beginning loading for easy removal of products · Transfer boxes from line discharge while ensuring alignment of each box with the case code/label facing out · Wrap boxes beginning after the fourth layer has been stacked and continuously as more layers are added · Place slip sheet on top of fourth layer of boxes, if required · Organize pallets on spreaders to allow product to cool down upon instruction · Responsible for ensuring that the coding on all boxes is correct · Operate electric pallet jack to transfer finished goods · Maintain clean and organized work area. · Work efficiently to maintain steady flow of finished goods. · Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasks · Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately · Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: · Currently enrolled in Highschool as Junior or Senior. · Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. · Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: · Power Industrial Truck Operator’s License WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs · Occasional squatting, pushing, pulling and repetitive hand motion · Ability to stand for most of shift · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely and frequently. · Ability to ascend and descend stairs
