_As a Program Grant Accountant, you will provide financial oversight and fiscal policy leadership for the programs and grants assigned to the incumbent. Specifically, this position will development and maintain financial reporting requirements to ensure proper reporting of expenditures related to the portfolio and report to grantor and/or sponsors the financial information within appropriate specified parameters._
_This position will also provide technical assistance to stakeholders for programs and grants in the position’s portfolio and provide fiscal oversight. The position will develop and update processes, policies and procedure to ensure programs and grants are operated in accordance with Department objectives and policies. This will include the evaluation of available data to make recommendations to streamline reporting and to develop new reporting instruments to achieve Departments objective while maintaining sound fiscal stewardship of State, Federal, and Foundation funds._
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
+ Serve as primary fiscal contact for the development and operation of the financial components for assigned Programs and Grants including, but not limited to, accounting, budgeting, reporting, payment processes and financial performance indicator for programs and grants as assigned.
+ Consult, advise and provide technical assistance to program clientele on matters related to financial management, accounting, and administrative procedures so that programs and grants operate fully within fiscal parameters required by the State.
+ Provide consulting and assistance to other clientele including the preparation and dissemination of reports, program analysis, program documentation and working papers.
Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of professional accounting experience
OR
Three (3) years advanced technical or paraprofessional accounting experience
AND
Experience must demonstrate the following:
+ Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to manage grant accounting functions.
+ Experience working with state, federal and/or dedicated funds.
+ Knowledge of financial systems, databases, and office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience applying accounting principles (GAAP) and practices sufficient in creation of various financial statements and reports.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret complex fiscal reports and records for adherence and conformance to federal laws, state statutes, and department policies.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel, including use of pivot tables and advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP or similar functions.
+ Communication skills that demonstrate the ability for clear and persuasive presentations to both internal and external audiences, including written and verbal skills to train other staff, answer questions, and provide accounting guidance.
+ Ability to plan, organize, and successfully manage competing priorities.
+ Knowledge of grant management life cycle.
+ Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
