Area Group Senior Sales Manager
This is a high-impact senior sales role covering two full-service hotels in Los Angeles and Hollywood. We’re looking for a driven, strategic seller who thrives on building relationships and using data to close business. You’ll lead cross-property group sales efforts across key market segments, with a focus on driving high-value business to both hotels in two competitive urban markets. This senior-level role requires a proactive, data-informed seller who can build strong client relationships, collaborate across departments, and contribute strategically to the overall sales success of the Sheraton Universal and a fully renovated and repositioned, LA Grand Hotel. If you're energized by fast-paced environments and passionate about delivering custom group solutions, this is your opportunity to make a mark.
What will you do?
• Sales Strategy & Business Development
+ Act as the primary point of contact for National and State Association groups for the Sheraton Universal and all group segments at the completely renovated, soon to be open LA Grand Hotel.
+ Develop and execute a strategic group sales plan targeting association market at the Sheraton Universal and all group markets at LA Grand through direct solicitation, trade shows, and strategic partnerships.
+ Build relationships with planners, CVBs, third-party intermediaries, and key influencers.
+ Maximize lead conversion and proactively uncover new group opportunities through outbound prospecting.
• Cross-Property Sales Execution
+ Sell both Sheraton Universal and brand-new LA Grand based on client needs, availability, and group fit, while optimizing placement for profitability and operational success.
+ Collaborate with each property’s Director of Sales, Revenue Management, and Event Planning to ensure seamless booking-to-execution process.
+ Prepare and deliver customized, compelling group proposals and site experiences tailored to the audience.
• Revenue Optimization & Forecasting
+ Work closely with Revenue Management teams to develop competitive, data-driven pricing strategies.
+ Monitor group pace, booking trends, and compression periods to maximize yield.
+ Maintain clean, accurate records in Delphi.fdc, CI/TY, and brand CRM systems, tracking all touchpoints and lead activity.
• Industry Engagement & Representation
+ Attend and represent both hotels at major association-related tradeshows and conferences (ASAE, CalSAE, Connect, etc.).
+ Host client events, site inspections, and FAM trips to build long-term loyalty and brand preference.
+ Stay informed of industry trends, legislative developments, and travel policies affecting group business.
About You:
+ 3-5+ years of progressive group sales experience, preferably in full-service or convention hotels.
+ Deep knowledge of the association market (national/state/educational/governmental).
+ Demonstrated success managing multi-property or cluster sales responsibilities.
+ Strong working knowledge of Delphi.fdc, CI/TY, One Yield, TravelClick, Knowland, Cvent and CRM systems.
+ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proposal writing and presentations.
+ Ability to travel for client meetings, industry events, and site inspections as needed.
Preferred Experience
+ Prior experience with Marriott (Sheraton) and independent or soft-brand hotels.
+ Familiarity with the Los Angeles group market and local convention landscape.
+ Active membership or participation in MPI, PCMA, ASAE, CalSAE, or SGMP.
