    Job Description

    A client in Allentown, PA is looking to bring on a SMT Process Engineer to join their team. This will be a permanent position, working Monday-Friday 9-5 shifts. The pay range is between $80K - $107K/yr. They will be working on developing SMT assembly and soldering processes in a medium to high-mixed complex PCBA environment. This position requires proficiency in technical documents, Microsoft Office tools, and strong analytical/problem solving skills. This individual must be able to sit for 50% of the workday, spend 10% or more using a microscope, and able to lift up to 40 lbs.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    - Plan and develop process and capacity utilization strategies for SMT assembly operations.

     

    - Develop solder paste printing, automated solder paste inspection, component placement, reflow soldering, and automated optical inspection (AOI) processes.

     

    - Develop SMT solder paste reflow profiles to ensure proper solder wetting.

     

    - Identify the root cause of yield/ quality issues and work with internal design/ application groups as well as vendors to develop corrective action.

     

    - Ensure production readiness of key processes in PCB assembly cycle.

     

    - Continuously improve SMT processes and yields.

     

    - Design experiments to develop optimum production processes such as solder paste selection, stencil designs, feeder set up methodology, and selective soldering techniques.

     

    - Optimize machine set up and programming.

     

    - Collaborate with internal teams on New Product Introductions (NPI); Interface with customers on pre-assembly or post-assembly concerns.

     

    - Manipulate data files using Gerber, ODB++, various CAD packages and 3D modeling such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 4+ years of experience with process engineering on SMT

     

    - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical field; Intimate SMT process experience is a must

     

    - Able to interpret assembly and fab drawings and the requirements within.

     

    - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

     

    - Must be able to compute volumes of various shapes.

     

    - Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. - Familiarity with 6S principles, ESD policies, and clean room policies

     

    - Experience interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

    - Fluent in Microsoft office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) null
