Position Summary:

Provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care. **Reports To:** Medical Director of Laboratory, Laboratory Director **Employees Supervised:** Medical Technologists, Phlebotomists

What you will do in this Role:

+ Maintains high level of quality work

+ Performs various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases

+ Receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis

+ Prepares specimens for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, and chemical and morphological examinations

+ Assumes responsibility for problem solving and quality control, developing new procedures, preparing end of the month reports, monitoring department inventory, and assessing POC personnel competency

Experience Required:

+ *Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician, 2 years previous supervisory experience preferred.

+ *MT (ASCP or AMT) is required for this position.
