    Part-time Job Announcement

     

    Position: Part-time Campus Police Officer (Elbert)

     

    Department: Division of Student Affairs

     

    Reports to: Chief of Police and the Vice President for Student Affairs

     

    Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.

     

    Deadline to Apply: May 26, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities:

    + Patrol the campus and buildings on foot and/or in a vehicle in order to deter crime, provide safety, security and assistance to students, staff and visitors on campus.

    + Enforce traffic and parking regulations.

    + Investigate disturbances, suspicious circumstances, traffic accidents or violation of college regulations when prompted by phone calls, alarms, citizens' requests, or officers' observations.

    + Talk with individuals to determine causes of disturbances or accidents.

    + Take reports and accurately complete forms to record incidents.

    + Direct traffic at campus events using barricades, traffic cones, traffic vests, and flashlights.

    + Must be familiar with the campus safety manual and be able to address emergencies on campus.

    + Participate in training activities.

    + Work closely with the Athens Technical College Police Chief, Police Supervisor, Campus Administrators and Security Officers.

    + Perform related work as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Georgia POST Certified with Basic Law Enforcement Mandate in ‘Good Standing.’

    + Must have general law enforcement authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned campus.

    + A Criminal History Report, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and Drug Testing will be required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED.

    + 21 years of age.

    + Knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Act and BIT.

    + Campus Police experience.
