    We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our **Vice President or Senior Vice President of Payor Strategy** . This executive-level position will lead our national payor contracting and strategy efforts, with a focus on optimizing reimbursement, advancing value-based initiatives, and ensuring access to care across a multi-site, multi-state footprint. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will drive strategic partnerships with national and regional health plans and be a key architect in shaping Monte Nido’s future in a rapidly evolving behavioral health landscape.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Strategic Leadership & Vision

    + Design and implement a forward-thinking payor strategy that aligns with Monte Nido’s growth objectives and evolving care model, including inpatient, residential, PHP/IOP, and virtual treatment services.

    + Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic input on organizational initiatives, geographic expansion, and reimbursement innovation.

    + Drive initiatives that expand access to care through improved reimbursement rates, network participation, and coverage for services across the continuum.

    Team Leadership & Development

    + Lead and develop the payor contracting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

    + Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and developmental pathways for team members.

    + Coordinate cross-functional efforts with finance, clinical operations, legal, and revenue cycle teams to ensure contract terms are achievable and aligned with operational capacity.

    Contracting & Negotiation

    + Direct and participate in negotiations for new and renewal contracts with commercial insurers, Managed Medicaid, and government payors.

    + Ensure contract terms optimize reimbursement while supporting Monte Nido’s clinical and financial goals.

    + Negotiate terms related to virtual care, telemedicine, and emerging care delivery models.

    + Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all contracts meet regulatory and ethical standards.

    Value-Based Care & Reimbursement Innovation

    + Evaluate and pursue opportunities for value-based care arrangements, including bundled payments, pay-for-performance models, and shared savings programs.

    + Partner with internal clinical and data teams to develop outcomes reporting capabilities that support value-based care performance.

    + Monitor payer and industry trends in reimbursement innovation and proactively position Monte Nido as a strong clinical and financial partner.

    Relationship Management

    + Act as the senior point of contact with national and regional payors, maintaining and growing strategic relationships that support long-term partnerships.

    + Represent Monte Nido in external meetings with health plans, trade organizations, and collaborative coalitions.

    + Serve as the organization’s payor strategy voice in market entry, new program launches, and expansion initiatives.

    Performance Analytics & Reporting

    + Oversee financial and operational performance analysis related to payor contracts.

    + Develop dashboards and reporting tools to assess contract value, utilization, and outcomes.

    + Provide regular updates to executive leadership on payer performance, contract negotiations, and strategic risks and opportunities.

    Market Monitoring & Regulatory Awareness

    + Stay abreast of evolving legislation, regulatory changes, and payor policies impacting behavioral health reimbursement, including Medicaid, parity laws, and telehealth reimbursement standards.

    + Inform internal stakeholders of potential impacts and position the organization to adapt proactively.

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications:

    + 7-10 years of leadership experience in payor strategy, contracting, or network development in healthcare, ideally in behavioral health or mental health.

    + Deep expertise in commercial and Managed Medicaid negotiations, with a national or multi-state perspective.

    + Proven experience leading teams and building strong internal and external partnerships.

    + Working knowledge of value-based care models and reimbursement innovation.

    + Familiarity with telemedicine and virtual behavioral health care strongly preferred.

    + Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and ability to think both strategically and tactically.

    + Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

    + Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field (MBA, MHA, MPH) preferred.
