The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) Finance team is looking to fill ourLimited PeriodManagement Analyst I position. This position works from the Augusta office; however, hybrid remote work options may be available for this position with management approval.

     

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:The Management Analyst I will work in a team environment while using independent judgment and discretion to make determinations on matters related to procurement, billing, and travel. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative, follow through on requests until completion, and have a keen eye for detail.     Typical Job Duties Include:

    + Performing thorough review and entry of Procurement documents into Advantage

    + Coordinating with team members to resolve funding issues

    + Overseeing the RFP process; acting as a liaison between Procurement Services and program staff

    + Reviewing procurement card invoices and performing billing audits

    + Providing support for the review and processing of travel-related documents

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of Generally Accepted Account Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and agency accounting systems, procedures, and structures; knowledge and experience of bookkeeping principles and practices; ability to accurately verify, code, compute, and reconcile data; ability to prepare complete and accurate accounting and financial reports and statements; ability to organize and maintain computerized and/or manual files. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, follows documented processes through completion, and is detail oriented.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Six (6) years of education, training, and/or experience analyzing, evaluating, and/or developing improvements to organizational and/or managerial systems, programs, and practices.

     

    Preference will be given to applicants with the following:Excellent computer skills (Word and Excel). Proven attention to detail, coding, and accurate data entry. Background that includes general accounting experience in general ledger and reconciliation methods.
