What you'll do Under the direction of the Echocardiography Laboratory Medical Director and the Cardiology Practice Manager, the Cardiac Sonographer III position will fill the role of Technical Director as set forth by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commision, including ensuring compliance of the technical staff to the IAC standards for accreditation. Directly responsible for supervision and administration of the Echocardiography Laboratory and its technical staff. Will also perform prompt, courteous, and quality echocardiography and support services for patients and providers throughout the Echocardiography Laboratory experience. Performs prompt, courteous, and quality transthoracic, transesophageal, & stress echocardiography. Travels to regional sites and performs echocardiograms. Mentor's fellows, students, and sonographers. Manages and participates in the echocardiography on call rotation. Technical Director as set forth by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commision, including adherence to IAC Standards and Guidelines for Adult Echocardiography Accreditation Responsible for supervising all technical staff within the Echocardiography Laboratory Responsible for working with the Cardiology Practice Manager to complete performance evaluations for echocardiography technical staff Assure the training and education of all staff to maintain licensure and certification as required and to assure that all professional staff have documented competency in their area of practice Takes appropriate disciplinary action for inappropriate behavior or failure to follow hospital policy for all employees being supervised Oversees the hiring of all echocardiography staff and ensure their appropriate and timely orientation. Assures documentation of the orientation is complete Supervises daily operations of the Echocardiography Laboratory Schedules staff to best support providers and facilitate patient access Establishes operational procedures that maximize clinical efficiency and minimize expenses Assists in maintaining continual readiness to meet or exceed the standards of governing regulatory agencies; including but not limited to the Intersocietal Accreditation Commision, Joint Commision, and the NYS Department of Health Maintains familiarity with institutional policies and procedures related to the safe and efficient operation of an accredited echo laboratory Facilitates echocardiography related continuing education necessary to maintain registrations, certifications, licensures; as well as general improvement and advancement of the Echocardiography Laboratory Assists in the development, implementation, and management of performance and quality assurance programs for the Echocardiography Laboratory Represent the Cardiology Division committees and workgroups as required Assists in the development of the Cardiology budget as required Performs other duties as requested by the Cardiology Practice Manager or Medical Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory What we need from you Education: Graduate from Vocational/Technica Accredited Cardiac Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program, required 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or Sciences with supporting healthcare background, preferred Experience: Minimum 5 years Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS) Registry experience, required Leadership experience, preferred Management experience, preferred License/ Certification: Registered RDCS or RCS, required Skills: Accountability Adaptability Analysis & Evaluation Attention to Detail Clinical Skills Communication Critical Thinking Decision Making Employee Relations Leadership Logical Thinking Problem Solving Quality Assurance Supervise Others Team Building Technical Skills Physical Requirements: Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects Occasional crouching, kneeling, lifting, stooping Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking Constant fit testing Hazards: Occasional radiation/radiant energy Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne, chemical Working Conditions: Frequent fumes, odors Travel: Extensive travel - you should expect to travel every week Total Rewards Bassett Healthcare Network’s commitment to our employees includes benefit programs carefully designed with the needs and values of all our employees in mind. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $42.22/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $63.33/Hr.
