Job Title: Purchasing Associate 5Job Description

This role involves strategic procurement with a focus on General Administration (GA) and Human Resources (HR) categories. The Purchasing Associate will develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives, lead negotiations for contracts and supplier agreements, and collaborate closely with finance, legal, and department heads. Additionally, the role requires driving continuous improvement in procurement practices, monitoring supplier performance, and leading transformational procurement projects aimed at enhancing processes and promoting sustainability.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives for GA and HR categories, including HR Travel Financial Legal services and corporate overhead, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

+ Lead negotiations for contracts, supplier agreements, and service level agreements to optimize terms and conditions and achieve cost savings.

+ Collaborate closely with finance, legal, and department heads to align procurement strategies with business goals and support organizational growth.

+ Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices utilizing analytics and market research to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains.

+ Monitor supplier performance, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service delivery expectations.

+ Lead transformational procurement projects aimed at enhancing procurement processes, leveraging technology, and driving organizational efficiency.

+ Champion sustainability initiatives within the procurement function, promoting environmentally responsible sourcing practices and supplier diversity.

+ Develop and implement change management strategies to support procurement transformation initiatives.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

+ 8-10 years of experience in strategic procurement with a focus on GA categories, ideally within the automotive or technology sector.

+ Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships to achieve optimal outcomes.

+ Proficiency in procurement tools and systems along with advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations relevant to procurement activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience leading and developing high-performing teams with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.

+ Passion for sustainability and familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices preferred.

+ Effective in engaging and collaborating across different departments.

+ Experience in the automotive industry is ideal.

+ Proactive self-starter comfortable navigating dynamic work environments with shifting priorities.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring a proactive approach and adaptability to shifting priorities. The position involves interaction with suppliers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams. Familiarity with ERP systems, proficiency in Excel, and experience in the automotive industry are advantageous. The role may require occasional travel and engagement in sustainability initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
