Overview
This role focuses on strategic sourcing and procurement for laminated bakery goods in Canada. The Sr. Sourcing Manager will develop and lead global sourcing strategies, ensuring supplier alignment, cost optimization, and long-term success. The ideal candidate has extensive food industry experience, strong negotiation skills, and expertise in cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
+ Strategic Procurement: Shape and execute multi-year category sourcing strategies, leveraging data-driven insights to drive bottom-line and top-line growth.
+ Supplier Management: Cultivate trust-based partnerships with new and existing suppliers, ensuring alignment on milestones, commercialization, and finished goods.
+ Contract Negotiation: Lead highly complex negotiations, creating contracts that balance business needs, compliance, and supplier accountability.
+ Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and reduce risks, including ethical sourcing, financial stability, and supply chain capacity challenges.
+ Process Optimization: Evaluate current supplier relationships, ensure cost-effectiveness, and develop frameworks for supplier innovation and value creation.
+ Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle for bakery sourcing in Canada, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Team & Work Environment
+ Highly collaborative and interactive team with frequent cross-functional engagement.
+ Hybrid role (Seattle-based, 3 days onsite per week).
+ Works closely with suppliers, product teams, and sourcing experts to ensure supply chain success.
Technology & Required Experience
+ 6-10+ years of sourcing/procurement experience (food industry required).
+ Proficiency in SmartSheets, MS Office (Excel pivot tables & formulas), Oracle ERS, SAP Ariba, Power BI, Tableau (training available).
+ Strong understanding of cost structure, supplier benchmarking, and procurement analytics.
+ Expertise in supplier negotiation, contract structuring, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
+ Ability to navigate large, matrixed organizations and influence leadership teams.
Nice-to-Haves
+ Experience with food procurement for global or multi-national brands.
+ Strong intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, and ability to drive innovation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $62.00/hr.
