Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Media & Content leads the marketing communications and content strategy for Dorman’s automotive and heavy-duty brands. He/she will help build the organization’s marketing communications capability with an initial focus on paid and owned media as well as original content. He/she will translate Brand, product, and eCommerce channel priorities into innovative marketing campaigns that improve customer engagement and drive brand equity. This role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge, marketing expertise, and creative ability.
Primary Duties
Marketing Communications Strategy
+ Partner with Director, Brand Marketing to develop and manage integrated marketing communications plans to support product launches, campaigns, events, and brand initiatives.
+ Lead campaign briefings and develop and execute unique media strategies.
+ Ensure messaging consistency across all channels, including TV, radio, digital, print, social, and email.
Content Strategy
+ Oversee the creation of original content including articles, blog posts, video scripts, case studies, product messaging, email copy, and more.
+ Manage content calendars and ensure alignment with broader marketing and business goals.
+ Collaborate with designers, videographers, and external agencies to produce high-quality content.
Brand Stewardship
+ Serve as a lead brand steward, maintaining and evolving the brand voice across all communications.
+ Craft key messaging frameworks for different customer segments, personas, and product lines.
Analytics & Optimization
+ Lead strategic marketing effectiveness evaluation of channel and owned performance and recommends micro (bidding, messaging, imagery, technical setup) and macro (channel and platform mix) optimizations to improve KPIs.
People Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Manage a talented team of marketers, prioritizing performance and development.
+ Oversee paid media, social media, loyalty, and influencer program partners.
+ Work closely with marketing, creative, ecommerce, product, and sales partners to align messaging and priorities.
Education / Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is required.
+ Minimum of 5 years of full-time professional experience in marketing communications and/or marketing content creation, particularly in an automotive business, creative agency, or B2B2C organization.
+ Strong technical understanding of auto parts and auto repair is essential. Candidates with hands-on experience on either the service side (e.g. automotive repair) or supply side (e.g. retail auto parts) will excel in this position.
Qualifications
+ Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies while managing projects across multiple teams.
+ Exceptional copywriting capabilities with a strong eye for ideating and crafting creative content, whether in text, image, or video format, to drive engagement.
+ Familiarity with digital marketing and analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Salesforce CRM, MailChimp (or similar email service providers), and social media platforms; experience with marketing automation systems (e.g., Marketo, Pardot) is a plus.
+ Solid grasp of modern marketing channel fundamentals and proven application in dynamic marketing environments.
+ Comprehensive understanding of contemporary automotive technology and its relevance to marketing initiatives.
+ Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is necessary for certain activities.
+ Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this position, employees frequently need to reach, carry items between buildings, and engage in conversations actively. The workplace environment typically maintains a moderate noise level.
