Job Title: Mechanical Designer/DrafterJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in engineering and design to support the development of mechanical components and systems. This role requires the ability to create detailed plans and drawings, as well as collaborate with engineering teams to improve product quality and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
+ Use Creo to develop plans, drawings, models, revise and initiate formats for parts, assemblies, and installation engineering.
+ Create new parts, drawings, BOMs, assemblies, simplified reps, and shrink wraps.
+ Support team members with design knowledge.
+ Complete layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).
+ Prepare complete production detail drawings.
+ Complete design modifications to improve the quality of products or facilitate manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in design/drafting.
+ Proficiency in CREO, NX, or SolidWorks (candidates do not need to have experience in all three software).
+ Knowledge of mechanical design, drafting, and engineering principles.
+ Experience with GD&T, 3D modeling, and CAD.
+ Solid understanding of ASME Y14.5 standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to work closely with MGSE engineers to provide component or system designs for handling, lifting, testing, assembly, and transportation of mechanical and electrical components.
+ Proficiency in drawing/Computer Aided Design (CAD) maintenance and verification.
+ Experience in supporting cross-discipline product development.
Work Environment
This position is onsite in Orlando, FL, supporting the Orion Program. The work involves collaborating with Lockheed Martin and other teams. The candidate will be required to be physically present at the facility, ensuring seamless communication and coordination within the team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $61.00/hr.
