Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) RPT (part-time) position located at the Outdoor Recreation Center on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 20 hours per week. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work. Responsibilities Operates equipment in a safe manner at all times. Performs duties according to established methods and instructions. Is responsible for operator maintenance on tractors and equipment used. Is knowledgeable of equipment and makes required adjustments for each job such as setting the height of mower blades and monitoring equipment to ensure they are operating appropriately. Performs routim: duties with little or no supcivision. With few exceptions, operatt:s vehicles in nccordnnce with established procedures and fede-ral, slate, and local traffic rcgulntions. Operates the motor vehicle in a manner that minimizes violations due to employee etTor or negligence. Exhibits courtesy and tact in dealing with patrons, co-workers, supervisors and leadership. Adheres to established standards of dress, personal hygiene, and conduct. Must demonstrate dependability and perform expected duties in appropriate amount of time. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: No previous experience or training is required. Must be able to use, control, and clean common handtools, and simple power equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy o??jects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Requires possession of a valid motor vehicle license. Musi be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing/or drug use. " Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
