Vanguard is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Global Compensation Accounting Manager to lead our global compensation accounting function! In this role, you will supervise a team of accounting professionals and be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of compensation and benefits across all regions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, a passion for automation and analytics, and a collaborative mindset to drive cross-functional partnerships across Finance, HR, and Payroll.

Responsibilities

+ Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

+ Oversees the accounting responsibilities for assigned legal entities, divisions, and/or functional areas. Reviews and analyzes financial activities in accordance with accounting and reporting standards, statutory reporting requirements and corporate policies. Provides financial expertise and leadership in coordinating and managing the financial closing process.

+ Leads financial reporting processes to ensure delivery of timely and accurate regulatory reports across global accounting teams. Performs analysis of legal entity profit and loss, balance sheet, and income statement.

+ Leads the recommendation, design, and implementation of internal control procedures to ensure proper recording of financial positions and prevent material errors in accounting records. Manages process changes to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency. Documents all modifications and communicates to management and to clients.

+ Works with external auditors during the annual financial statement audit. Answers all auditor inquiries related to complex accounting topics.

+ Creates, updates, and presents training to accounting staff and management.

+ Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role

+ Undergraduate degree, Accounting required. Graduate degree preferred.

+ CPA license is required

+ Technical accounting experience in compensation and payroll is required.
