    Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Structures Mechanic will perform fabrication, installation, and modifications on aircrafts for the US Navy, focusing on Gulfstream models.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform routine maintenance and inspections.

    + Conduct structural repairs and modifications.

    + Ensure proper care of customer property through all phases of maintenance work.

    + Accurately complete required paperwork and work order details.

    + Order parts as requested by lead technician.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area, including personal tool box.

    + Work overtime as required.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with modification, repair, and fabrication of sheet metal.

    + Fixed wing aircraft experience.

    + Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 4+ years of structures/sheet metal experience in MRO/modification environment.

    + Eligibility for clearance.

    + Experience on Learjet 31, 35, and 36 and Gulfstream 4 and Gulfstream 4SP preferred.

    + Flexibility to work any shift.

    + Must provide own tools.

    + Must be able to read blueprints/drawings.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a hangar environment, with the facility operating 7 days a week. Shifts may be Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat, with 10-hour shifts from 6 AM-4 PM or 3 PM-1 AM. Employees are expected to work at least 50 hours a week and should be comfortable with working overtime.

    This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $52.00/hr.
