    Job Title: General Production Worker

    Job Description

    As a General Production Worker, you will start in the trim department of a large manufacturing facility specializing in custom cabinets. You will have the opportunity to move to other departments over time and be promoted within the company. You will rotate between four different departments during your workday.

    Responsibilities

    + Follow job instructions, inspect work processes carefully, and maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to safety regulations.

    + Perform edge sanding using an orbital sander on doors and headers.

    + Inspect loose components and perform necessary repairs.

    + Catch panels off the panel sander.

    + Hang components onto a paint line.

    + Install hinges onto doors.

    + Measure components, match order forms with products, and install shelves, roll tray tracks, and inner components.

    + Screw in roll tray tracks, hang doors, and install drawers.

    + Package finished cabinets into cardboard boxes.

    + Quickly remove stain from the front and back of each component, following the grain of the wood.

    + Remove excess glaze from the face of each component, allowing glaze to remain in natural areas of the doors.

    + Perform seal sanding by working from the outer edge to the center of components, selecting the appropriate sandpaper for each type of wood or stain.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with hand tools and power tools.

    + Ability to use a tape measure accurately.

    + Experience in production environments.

    + Previous experience in construction, assembly, packaging, cabinet building, or cabinetry manufacturing.

    + Basic woodworking and finishing skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 6 months of previous work experience.

    + Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

    + Pass a tape measure test.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with training.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a large manufacturing facility with about 300 employees, where some areas can be loud. Safety glasses and ear buds are provided to ensure your safety. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 4:30 pm. The dress code requires closed-toed shoes and non-offensive clothing.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, South Dakota.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
