    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Reporting to the SVP, BSA Officer, the incumbent assists the BSA Officer with implementing, managing, and maintaining a robust risk assessment for the Bank. The Risk and Strategy Director will develop transaction monitoring strategies based on the risk assessment results, emerging risk, and regulatory expectations. This role will provide strategic direction and recommendations for program enhancements based on internal and external events; such as changes in business strategy, emerging market, emerging risks, enforcement actions, and changes in laws and regulations. The individual will assist with various initiatives, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

    HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

    + Conduct annual enterprise BSA/OFAC and targeted risk assessments to identify and manage financial crime risks, analyze the effectiveness of internal controls, develop plans to address control gaps and monitor implementation.

    + Maintain and update the risk assessment methodology.

    + Proactively identify any regulatory compliance issues or concerns and make suggestions to take corrective action, including implementing solutions to improve controls or operations.

    + Lead the development and calibration of monitoring strategies to support the overall transaction monitoring framework based on risk assessment results, emerging risks and emerging typologies, as well as regulatory enforcement actions.

    + Implement and manage the customer risk rating methodology and processes.

    + Implement and manage geography risk rating methodology and processes.

    + Assist with reviewing new products and services to determine any potential downstream impact to BSA and OFAC and to ensure requisite BSA and OFAC compliance requirements and controls are incorporated in new products and services.

    + Support current and new business initiatives by providing guidance as subject matter expert (e.g., review and approve business requirements, developing control structures, and identify regulatory issues).

    + Serve as department technology steward for all AML and OFAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and continuous improvement.

    + Stay abreast of current and emerging AML and counter-terrorism financing typologies as well as regulatory updates.

    + Assist BSA and OFAC operations in improving processes and efficiency through ongoing collaboration on CRR, transaction monitoring, and screening (e.g., OFAC whitelisting, negative news criteria, etc.).

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

    + Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    + At least 15 years of direct experience in BSA/AML compliance with strong knowledge of the USA PATRIOT Act and OFAC requirements.

    + Experience with alternative investment, such as private equity and venture capital.

    + Strong understanding and working with data analytics teams to develop analytics and reporting consumable to a broad range of audiences.

    + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.

    + Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment.

    + Attentive to detail as well as adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced dynamic working environment.

    + Experience evaluating tools and solutions to innovatively solve complex challenges.

    + Advanced Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) including the use of pivot tables.

    SALARY RANGE

    The full-time base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 - $185,000.00 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
