**Position Title:** SCA Drafter/CAD Operator 3

Purpose of the position

Will perform assigned drafting / CAD duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Principal Responsibilities of the Position

+ Performs drafting work manually or using a computer, requiring knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques. Prepares drawings of structures, facilities, land profiles, water systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, pipelines, duct systems, and similar equipment, systems, and assemblies. Drawings are used to communicate engineering ideas, design, and information. Uses recognized systems of symbols, legends, shadings, and lines having specific meanings in drawings.

+ Prepares complete sets of complex drawings or computer models that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings

+ Assignments regularly require the use of mathematical formulas to draw land contours or to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.

+ Works from sketches and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.

Education and Experience Requirements

+ AEE Technology Degree plus 2 years’ experience or minimum 5 years’ experience equivalent.

+ Has general knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation 5.0 or higher software

+ Has general knowledge of manual drafting expertise, personal computer operations, and construction practices.

Requirements

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.

+ Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).

+ Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.

+ Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver’s license.

+ High School Diploma or GED, required.

Special Knowledge and Skills Required

+ This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.

+ Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

+ Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.

+ Will insure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customers’ needs when complete.

Physical Requirements

+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

+ Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.

Preferences

+ Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
