    Job Summary:

    As a Senior CMF Designer at Polaris Design, you will contribute to the conceptualization, development, and implementation of CMF for future Polaris Designs, accessories, and related products. You will be part of a team that creates and executes world-class products in terms of innovation, performance, and aesthetics.

     

    You will be involved in various aspects of the CMF design process, including trend research, analysis, mood and story creation, material innovation, and execution of final color, materials, and finishes for production.

     

    Success in this role requires a demonstrated ability to create compelling and innovative solutions while collaborating with global suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation into production. You hold superior standards for quality and attention to detail, have a strong sense for design excellence, build strong relationships with other team members, and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

    What You'll Do:

    • Ideate, visualize, and develop design proposals for colors, materials, and finishes.

    • Focus on building patterns and textures, both 2D and 3D, for various application areas.

    • Develop digital and physical CMF presentations that show a future vision.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing, to implement production of final CMF designs.

    • Support design execution of colors, materials, and finishes for both prototype and production vehicles.

    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to develop innovative designs and ensure design intent is upheld at production.

    • Assist in sourcing, advancing and maintaining a comprehensive internal library of inspirational, advanced, and relevant materials and finishes.

    • Participate in color harmony reviews.

    • Assist in color development and material mastering of all commodities.

    • Create comprehensive CMF definition documents and CMF releases linked to design gateways and property plans.

    What You'll Bring:

    • Submission of a portfolio, work samples, or website showing body of work.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in CMF Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design, Transportation Design, or Industrial Design.

    • 5-7 years of CMF experience within the automotive or motorcycle OEM space.

    • Knowledge of the design process and methodology, as well as the CMF development process.

    • General understanding of mass production, manufacturing processes, and materials.

    • Excellent at creating and maintaining cross-functional working relationships.

    • Exceptional visual, communication, and presentation skills.

    • Proficient use of digital tools – Adobe Creative Suite.

    • Ability to deliver successful designs under tight timing constraints and provide examples of such scenarios throughout career.

     

    The pay range for Minnesota is $95,000 to $125,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
