    Description and Requirements

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide expert legal advice on international data transfer mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), data transfer impact assessments (TIAs), adequacy decisions, and related risk mitigation strategies.

    + Draft, review, and negotiate cross-border transfer agreements with vendors, affiliates, and partners, and work with IT and product teams to establish mechanisms to comply.

    + Monitor and interpret evolving global privacy laws and regulatory guidance affecting cross-border data transfers.

    + Lead the development and implementation of a scalable global framework for international data flows.

    + Partner with IT and security teams to document and oversee technical and organizational measures supporting secure data transfers.

    + Assist in regulatory inquiries and audits related to international data flows.

    + Contribute to internal policies, training, and awareness programs regarding cross-border data compliance.

    + Draft and update guidelines to respond customers’ questions around data privacy compliance at large, data storage and cross-border transfers in particular.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent legal degree.

    + 12+ years of legal experience with a strong emphasis on data protection and privacy law in a multinational or regulated environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Deep understanding of international privacy frameworks including GDPR, LGPD, and U.S. state-level laws and regulations in an evolving legal and political environment.

    + Practical experience advising on SCCs, BCRs, TIAs, and cloud/data localization issues.

    + Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly for privacy and data protection terms.

    + Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies.

    + Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking for developing international data governance frameworks and implementing IT system deployments.

    + IAPP certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) preferred.
