Job Overview
Jensen Hughes has an exciting job opportunity for a Staff Consultant in our Southeast region. The candidate will get to work on a variety of exciting projects in a dynamic environment with multi-disciplined engineers. The position includes both office and field duties. The position requires strong communications skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of other professionals in the engineering and scientific disciplines. The applicant must be motivated and ready to contribute in any way needed to provide excellent client service and support to the other professionals in the company. This is a full-time opportunity that will provide new challenges, new experiences and a goal-oriented team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
+ Perform professional-level engineering services such as risk informed applications, piping analysis, structural support qualifications, design/analysis of small structural/mechanical systems, all under the direction of a P.E. or an experienced consultant.
+ Meet client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks in the time and budget allotted and tracking and documenting time spent on assigned tasks and duties.
+ Assist technically in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, detailed preparation or review of design computations done by others, and general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
+ Compose technical letters and reports to address specific technical concepts as may be needed by assigned tasks.
+ Submit progress reports to Project Managers and Project Leaders.
+ Effectively communicate with project team members, clients and others.
Requirements and Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in structural, civil, mechanical or related engineering field.
+ Strong writing skills and ability to produce quality technical reports
+ CAD or Revit experience a plus
+ EIT preferred with ability to achieve PE
+ Responsible self-starter with problem solving and reasoning skills.
+ Possess personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
