Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Program Director to support the Combat Systems Development (CSD) group to lead the assessment of the Future Tech Works (FTX) program(s). As the Program Director, you are directly responsible for successful capture, planning, and completion of FTX Programs and working with the Customer towards transition to the US Government. As the Program Director, you will lead proposals in support of future FTX efforts. Develop proposals and program plans that address the life cycle of products from capture through execution and transition of technology to demonstrator, production, and post-production support. The Program Director is the primary point of contact for all functions, and manages stakeholder communications with cross-functional teams, customers, and BAE Systems management on programmatic issues. This role will provide a competitive advantage to the company by managing the program's defined scope on schedule, within budget, and at the expected level of quality. This position is classified as a hybrid role (three days onsite) in the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Sterling Heights, MI facility.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage all aspects of program Monitoring and Control including profit, sales, orders, inventory, cash flow, and working capital for multiple work directives and contracts simultaneously.
+ Monitor and Control program cost, schedule, and technical execution using earned value management (EVM) and other best practices.
+ Effectively manage key relationships and balance needs of the USG customer and the business.
+ Maintain compliance with OTA/MTA, FAR, DCMA procedures, and other GOV acquisition policies.
+ Provide program leadership in Program Execution, anticipate and resolve problems, and ensure inter-group cooperation meets all program obligations and objectives.
+ Interface with customers on all program issues including marketing, cost, schedule, technical, and contractual status.
+ Lead Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management activities.
+ Manage the Supply Chain and exercise control over the purchasing/procurement of goods and services, interfacing with vendors when applicable.
+ Lead the program planning, capture, and execution of follow-on work directive efforts.
+ Develop and execute a program execution plan, including stakeholder analysis, establishing internal/external program plans, marketing strategies, budgets, schedules, and resources necessary to achieve program goals.
+ Directly coordinate with sub-suppliers/prototype network/production to ensure a seamless transition plan has been planned and followed through to Production RFP execution.
+ Lead BAE Systems Lifecycle Management (LCM) implementation.
+ Ensure LCM mandates are implemented for the program and program documentation is of acceptable quality and completeness.
+ Understand the program financial position and lead the program response during Contract Status Reviews.
+ Actively promote a culture of safety, health, and personal well-being for self, employees, and the program team.
+ Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and environmental objectives and policies.
+ Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to ethics, export control, proprietary information, document/record retention, public communication, etc.
+ Directly manage, lead, coach, and develop PMs as well as indirectly lead and mentor program team members across several functions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
+ Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience (Engineering Degree preferred)
+ Experience in understanding Combat Vehicles at a Systems level, to include Ground Vehicle Dynamics, Drive by Wire systems, and Hardware and Software integration onto a platform
+ Experience in Program/Project Management
+ Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM)
+ Experience in People Management/Leadership
+ Experience in Customer Interfacing and Relationship Management
+ Ability to manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute programs/projects
+ Ability to lead Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management activities to include identification and development of risk mitigation plans, scope management, program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
+ Ability to lead, manage, and influence stakeholders
+ Ability to foster an inclusive workplace in which all individuals thrive and perform at their best
+ Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work across functional boundaries
+ Strong business acumen enabling achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Active Secret Security Clearance
+ Engineering Degree
+ MBA or Master s Degree
+ PMP Certification
+ Experience in leading complex programs for tracked combat vehicles and/or weapons systems
+ Understanding of Autonomous navigation, decision making algorithms, sensor fusion, and AI/ML for robotics
+ Understanding requirements development process
+ Knowledge of Army operations
+ Broad knowledge of Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and General Management
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
