Operations Specialist

North Georgia Hydro

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will function in a technical role to support the Operations area at North Georgia Hydro. The Operations Specialist will support the operations at all locations within the North Georgia Hydro Group. North Georgia Hydro is made up of multiple hydro plants so there will be travel involved. This position will be filled as a Level 4 or 5.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrator of LOTO Program

Work with NGH Modernization Team on current and future projects

Develop and update operations procedures

Monthly GADS reporting

Lead the training for new operators

Develop and monitor operations preventative maintenance task

Maintain Operations work schedule

Manage day to day Operations at NGH

JOB REQUIREMENTS

_Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills Requirements:_

5 years experience working in electric generating plant operations area required

5 years experience working in a electric plant is preferred

Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision

Must possess an understanding of power plant cycles, equipment and systems

Modeling of Southern Company's Our Values is required

Proficient in relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office tools, MAXIMO, GDIS, SharePoint)

Strong written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills required

Presentation and instructional skills preferred

Ability to prioritize and perform in fast-paced, dynamic environment required

Ability to collect relevant data, build a plan of action and implement solutions

Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to form good working relationships throughout the plant and Generation fleet required

This position is located at North Ga Hydro Headquarters.
