Business Operations Engagement & Support Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Operations Engagement & Support Manager is responsible and critical for assuring that Southern Company’s stakeholders are engaged, informed, and aligned with the Project Shared Services Business Operations mission, vision, and strategic goals, ultimately contributing to effective capital deployment across Southern Company. This position will lead a team as part of a broader organization responsible for implementing Business Operations elements across major capital initiatives, including power generation expansion projects, power delivery infrastructure improvements, and other critical support initiatives within Southern Company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: ** (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills **)
+ Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Data Sciences is preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, Project Management, Power Delivery, Power Generation or large construction projects is preferred.
+ Proven ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
+ Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.
+ Proficiency in stakeholder engagement tools and software is an advantage.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will cross-functional team that is responsible for:
Stakeholder Engagement Strategy Development:
+ Develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies to foster collaboration and alignment across various Operating Companies within Southern Company.
+ Develop and tailor strategic engagement plans to meet their specific needs and objectives of the organizations Business Operations partners with.
Relationship Building:
+ Build and maintain strong, sustainable relationships with stakeholders at all levels of Southern Company.
+ Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively by PSS Business Operations.
Influence and Collaboration:
+ Utilize strong influencing skills to drive alignment and support for initiatives from stakeholders who do not report directly to the position.
+ Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve business goals, ensuring that all relevant parties are engaged and informed.
+ Provide feedback to Business Operations management team
Communication and Reporting:
+ Develop and deliver clear, concise, and compelling communication materials to update stakeholders on project progress, outcomes, and changes.
+ Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key stakeholder engagement activities and outcomes.
Conflict Resolution:
+ Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise between internal stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are aligned with the company’s objectives and values.
+ Mediate discussions and negotiations to find mutually beneficial outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
+ Continuously assess and improve stakeholder engagement processes, leveraging feedback and best practices to enhance effectiveness.
+ Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices in stakeholder engagement and apply this knowledge to the role.
+ Provide feedback to peers and contributors on the Business Operations team to support personal growth and development of the team.
Training and Support:
+ Provide training and support to internal teams on effective stakeholder engagement practices.
+ Identify training needs within partnering organizations related to specific business operations elements.
+ Develop resources and tools to assist teams in managing their stakeholder relationships.
Feedback Mechanisms:
+ Implement and manage feedback mechanisms to capture stakeholder insights, ensuring that feedback is used to inform decision-making and improve processes.
+ Analyze feedback data to identify trends and areas for improvement, including recommendations and detailed plans based off the analysis.
Project Management Support
+ Support key projects that require cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that stakeholder engagement is integrated into project plans.
+ Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Cultural Ambassador:
+ Promote a culture of open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect within the organization.
+ Advocate for the needs and perspectives of internal stakeholders in organizational planning and decision-making processes.
