Position Summary:
Henry Ford Genesys Hospital is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Nursing to support strategic nursing transformation initiatives and to lead in our Magnet designation journey. This unique, leadership role is designed to drive nursing excellence, elevate shared governance, and embed evidence-based practices and performance improvement within our organization.
This leader will serve as a strategic change agent focused on transformational projects that support nursing quality, regulatory readiness, and Magnet accreditation success.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Nursing Practice Transformation:
+ Oversee and standardize nursing policies and procedures.
+ Partner with regulatory teams to ensure nursing regulatory compliance and readiness.
+ Lead integration and optimization of Epic for nursing workflows.
+ Lead Henry Ford Genesys' Magnet Journey:
+ Lead Henry Ford Health’s system-wide Magnet journey.
+ Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and develop a strategic roadmap for Magnet readiness.
+ Write and submit the Magnet application, ensuring compliance with ANCC requirements.
+ Data, Quality, and Experience:
+ Manage the NDNQI database and related metric tracking.
+ Align and prioritize nursing quality metrics and audits.
+ Lead patient experience improvement initiatives in collaboration with clinical teams.
+ Shared Governance & Leadership Development:
+ Establish and strengthen nursing shared governance structures.
+ Mentor and educate nursing teams on governance principles and professional autonomy.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and excellence.
+ Project Management & Strategic Support:
+ Coordinate multiple cross-functional nursing projects.
+ Apply project management principles and Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Provide regular updates to nursing leadership on transformation initiatives.
+ Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN); Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
+ Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan (or ability to obtain).
+ Minimum 5–7 years of progressive nursing leadership, with strong emphasis on project or program management.
+ Exceptional communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
+ Adept at change management and able to influence without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Leadership experience in a Magnet designated hospital highly preferred
+ Experience with Epic.
+ Experience with nursing policy management, and regulatory compliance.
+ Strong data literacy, including NDNQI database management and metric-driven decision-making.
+ Lean certification or formal process improvement training highly preferred.
