    Summary

    We are seeking someone who's both a strategic and hands-on leader who can develop big ideas and roll up their sleeves to make them happen. You'll manage our Marketing Team and work closely with the Sparks & 3D Exhibits Leadership Team. If you have 15+ years of marketing experience, love building great teams, and get excited about shaping the future of events, we want to talk to you!

     

    This role will report into the Chief Marketing Officer of The Freeman Company. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of Philadelphia, PA or the surrounding region.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management

    + Lead Sparks' marketing function, orchestrating unified strategies in support of Sparks

    + Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans that drive revenue growth, enhance brand value, and industry reputation

    + Design scalable marketing strategies that optimize individual business success while strengthening Sparks' market position

    + Build relationships across the The Freeman Company to leverage unique opportunities that enhance Sparks and the parent brand narrative

    Marketing Excellence & Innovation

    + Develop high-impact, integrated marketing programs across digital, social, events, and traditional channels that deliver measurable business outcomes

    + Transform complex business challenges into actionable marketing solutions that reinforce Sparks' leadership position in the events industry

    + Create breakthrough programs that increase awareness among new target audiences while maintaining strong connections with existing customers

    + Design and implement repeatable marketing frameworks while identifying opportunities for innovative approaches that differentiate Sparks

    Team Development & Operational Excellence

    + Lead and mentor a high-performing team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and results

    + Build and optimize marketing shared services capabilities that support both Sparks & 3D Exhibits

    + Guide the strategic transition from decentralized to matrixed marketing operations while maintaining business momentum, fostering collaboration between Sparks division and The Freeman Company marketing & communications team

    + Direct resource allocation and prioritization across the organization to maximize business impact

    Performance & Impact

    + Provide clear metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate marketing effectiveness and ROI

    + Use data-driven insights to continuously refine strategies and improve program performance

    + Foster strong stakeholder relationships across Sparks teams including Growth, Account Management, Creative and Event Production

    + Drive employee engagement and strengthen company culture through marketing initiatives

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience

    + Proven success in matrix organizations and shared services environments

    + Experience in M&A integration and portfolio management

    + Strong track record in B2B marketing, preferably in events industry

    + Demonstrated success in building scalable marketing operations

    + Strategic vision with exceptional execution capabilities

    + Experience in managing change across complex organizations

    + Player coach that builds world-class marketing teams that are strategic partners to the business

    + Strong business acumen and financial management skills

    + Outstanding stakeholder management abilities

    + Comfortable with ambiguity and varying levels of business maturity

    + Results-oriented with strong analytical capabilities

    Travel Requirements

    Travel up to 25%
